Walking through the door of Dean’s factory was an experience I won’t soon forget, stepping through the door is almost fairytale like, taking you back in time to Geppetto’s work shop. The smell of fresh sawdust in the air, templates on the wall, in-progress guitar necks hanging overhead, laser etched bodies ready for assembly, in-lay mother of pearl spiders itching to be set in fingerboards; a real wood workers dream come true. You can sense passion at every station and witness technology seamlessly blended into the process. The overriding theme is a cross between innovation and quality, both competing for prominence.
I’ve had the distinct pleasure of meeting a real down to earth, humble Dean previously but in this world I gained a real appreciation for Dean’s inner genius. In the world of guitar building, Dean Zelinsky is quite frankly brilliant. A real innovator and creator. A bit Mozart and Einstein; Antonio Goudy and Warhol, Michael Angelo and Bocelli. It’s no wonder every guitar Dean builds is a masterpiece. I can’t wait to see what he will come up with next.
