Dean's take on the PAF style pickup with a little something extra under the hood...
Functionally identical to our SideKick pickups, TruTaps are humbuckers that split to volume matched single-coils, the difference being magnet construction.
TruTaps use Alnico V bar magnets for a familiar vintage PAF voicing in humbucker mode, splitting to chimier but still thick single-coil tone. SideKicks use Alnico 2 magnetic slugs and have a much brighter, twangier single-tone and more focused modern humbucking sound.
Both the TruTap neck and bridgeare medium output and with a familiar vintage voice. The bridge model is more mid-forward with smooth highs, and the neck has a more tubular open voice with rich lows. Coilsplitting introduces more sparkle without any drop in volume. If you're a humbucker player that occasionally needs a single-coil voice, these are for you.
